On Saturday 24th May at 21:38hrs Cumbria Police contacted the Team to reports of a group of 16/17 year olds lost on Dove Crag in Hartsop. The duty Leader made contact with the 5 males and established that they had been attempting to get to the Priest Hole Cave on Dove Crag but had failed to locate it. They had extracted themselves from a very precarious position and were now on better ground and safe , unfortunately due to the atrocious weather the group were wet through and cold.  A limited call out was started and 4 Team members attended Patterdale base. The Duty Leader had been in contact with the teenagers numerous times and explained the timescale of getting to the group, the males decided they would attempt to put their tent up for the night and await daylight.  At around Midnight the Team returned home after further discussions and confirming with the males and Cumbria Police that they were now safe and inside their tent.  4 Team members were involved for 2 hours in total.

Just after 10 pm on Easter Sunday the Team were alerted by Cumbria Police, who had received a call by a concerned member of the Public having seen lights flashing near Little Mel Fell.
A Team member went to investigate by the time they had arrived the lights had stopped flashing and the team was stood down.
This involved 2 team members  and lasted just over 1 hour.

The Team were called after a man was reported missing by his partner, who had concerns for his welfare. He had failed to attend work, and police located his car at Cow Bridge car park. The Team conducted a hasty search of the fells near the car during the available daylight. Lake District search dogs and further resources were assembled to search from first light the following day, including a visiting RAF team, members of other Lake District mountain rescue teams, the regional drone search group, a swift-water rescue team and the mines rescue team. The search was stood down at about 12:00 the following day after the man was found deceased by a member of the public outside the Team's area.

A member of the public reported flashing lights on the front of Place Fell, opposite the Team's base. The Duty Leader investigated and found that the lights were moving. Nobody had been reported overdue or missing, and the area had good mobile-phone coverage. On this basis, it was concluded that the lights were probably from a party descending the fell late, and no further action was taken.

At 08:10 on Thursday 27 March 2025, the Team were contacted after a woman reported concern for her boyfriend and three others who had gone wild camping on Helvellyn. They had not been in contact since 15:00 the previous day and had little wild-camping experience. The Duty Leader explained that the party probably had no phone signal but agreed to check for their car in the Glenridding car parks. As the search began, the party made contact to say they were safe and on their way down.

A 22-year-old walker was assisted off the fell by Patterdale Mountain Rescue on February 28th after becoming stuck on Swirril Edge. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. The walker, was stuck on the ridge and unable to make her way forward or backward along the ridge.
She contacted Cumbria Police for help, who then called out the mountain rescue team. While on the phone to the the walker, they were joined by 2 further walkers who assisted her off the ridge . Further contact was made with the walker who was then happy to walk down from Red Tarn To Glenridding. She safely arrived at her car a few hours later with the support of some people staying in Bury Jubilee Hostel.

On Tuesday 25th of February the Team were requested to begin investigating an overdue walker after her partner called the police and expressed concern for her welfare. As the Team Leader was assessing the situation the woman regained cellular phone signal and was able to contacted her partner.
The team were stood down and no action was taken. Called with good intent.
This incident involved one Team member and took just ten minutes.

On Saturday 22nd of February Patterdale Team members were tasked as part of the LDSMRA Drone Team to assist County Durham Police and Teasdale Mountain Rescue Team in the search for a missing 23yr old ultra runner who had been reported missing since the previous Tuesday.
Saturday provided a brief weather window for the use of drones before the forecasted storm was due to arrive on Sunday.
This incident involved two Team members and took 11hrs.

At 16:13 on Saturday 8th February Cumbria Police alerted Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team to a party of 5, all in their early twenties, reporting themselves lost on Helvellyn.  The details of the 999 call had been passed to Cumbria Police by Lancashire Constabulary after it had been routed there.
After several attempts, mobile phone contact was made with the party who were close to the Helvellyn summit cross shelter.  When they discovered that it would take the rescue team at least an hour and half to assemble and reach their location, and that they would be expected to walk back down, the members of the party decided they would retrace their steps to descend back along Striding Edge.  The Team monitored their progress and closed the call when they reached the footpath down from Red Tarn.
The incident involved 2 team members for 90 minutes.

At 18:10 on Saturday 8th February Cumbria Police contacted the Team with a report of four 19 year old men who were lost in the vicinity of Hart Crag.
Mobile phone communication was established and a “phone finder app” was used to locate the party who were in Link Cove to the North of Hart Crag.  They had been hoping to spend the night in the Priest's Hole on Dove Crag but had become disorientated trying to find it in the dark.  They were directed back on to the path along Hartsop Above How, where they met up with other people who were planning to camp in Houndshope Cove.  Having been advised that it was unsafe to attempt to find Priest's Hole in the dark due to the cliffs beneath it, the party of four joined the campers in Houndshope Cove, intending to descend back down to Patterdale in the morning.
The incident lasted one hour and involved one team member.
