Callout 86
On Sunday 20th September at 14:00hrs The Team were called by Cumbria Police to a male who had fallen whilst walking between Howtown and Glenridding on the Lakeshore Path and had a Head injury.
The Duty Leader called the team out and the Rescue Rib was launched to assist a swift evacuation across the lake. Once on scene the male was treated by RRMT (Remote Rescue Medical Technician), he was packaged in a vacuum mattress placed on the stretcher and loaded onto the boat.
Once back at the pier he was handed over to North West Ambulance Service for onward travel to Hospital for further treatment.
11 Mountain Rescue Volunteers attended the incident which lasted 3 hours in total , the Team would like to express their thanks to Glenridding Sailing School who kindly let them use their pontoon for these rescues for transfer of casualties etc.
