Injured walker
At 19:30 on Wednesday 29th July, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team (PMRT) received notification from Cumbria Police of a male who had slipped at the summit of Hallin Fell and injured his ankle. PMRT volunteers made their way around Ullswater lake, and then ascended Hallin Fell on foot from St Peter’s Church.
The casualty was examined by Remote Rescue Medical Technicians, his injured ankle splinted, and he was stretchered down to the road for transfer to North West Ambulance Service. The rescue lasted 3 hours and involved 9 Team members. The Team wishes the casualty a speedy recovery.
