On Sunday 13th July 2008 at 19.15 the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called by Cumbria Police to search for a group of 3 mountain bikers whom had become fatigued and disorientated whist attempting a route over the High Street range.
A total of 9 Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team personnel were involved in the search and then assisting the group from the fell. The group were poorly equipped and had overestimated their abilities not completing half of their intended route before having to call the team.
The team advises fell users to carry a torch, whistle and waterproof clothing and be able to use a map and compass even over the summer months when the weather forecast is favourable.
