Patterdale Mountain rescue Team were called by Cumbria Police to a 50 year old male from Peterlee who had fallen while climbing on Yew Crag, Gowbarrow, Ullswater. He had suffered suspected head and hip injuries. Fourteen members of Patterdale Mountain Rescue team including two team doctors, an ambulance paramedic and The ‘Pride of Cumbria’ air ambulance attended the incident.
The casualty was treated at the scene by doctors and paramedics from the Rescue Team and the air ambulance. He was the evacuated by stretcher from the incident site to a Patterdale Rescue Team vehicle. He was then driven to the air ambulance for onward transport to The Cumbria Infirmary in Carlisle.
