Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were alerted by NorthWest Ambulance Service just before 4 pm Saturday 12th July  of a runner in the Grisedale Valley who was taking part in a 55 mile mountain event. A caller had reported to them that the runner had lost consciousness, had been sick and was looking pale.
The team deployed two vehicles to Grisedale Valley and also requested the assistance of the Coast Guard Helicopter which was in the area
The Helicopter crew arrived at the scene at the same time as the team. The casualty was treated by the Coastguard Paramedic, he was then winched from scene and taken to the King George playing field at Patterdale.
The casualty was then checked over by a team doctor at Patterdale Base and transferred  to hospital  by NWAS for further checks.
This rescue lasted 2 hours 30 min and involved 11 team members Thanks to Rescue 199 ( Coastguard) for their assistance.

Cumbria Police contacted Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team at 23:58 on Friday 4th July with a report of a man missing on Glenridding Dodd.  The man and his partner had climbed the Dodd in the evening, returning to their car on Greenside Road at about 21:30,  just as the light was starting to fade.  At this point he discovered he had lost his phone, and telling his partner to wait at the car and keep calling the phone, he set off to retrace his steps, without either a torch or waterproof clothing.  His partner waited at the car for two hours, but as he had not returned, at nearly midnight, she knocked on the door of a local holiday cottage and then called the Police.
A party 4 team members was assembled to climb Glenridding Dodd to search for the man, but by 3 am  they had returned having found no trace of him and the Team had contacted the Lake District Search Dogs Association and started to organise a more extensive and structured search for first light.  Shortly afterwards the police received a call from a member of the public in Glenridding; the man had been found in the centre of the village, wet and cold, with cuts and bruises, but otherwise uninjured.
The missing phone was found the following Sunday, still working and with 50% charge!
The incident lasted 4 hours and involved 6 team members.

On Sunday 22/06/2025 at around midnight the team were contacted by Keswick MRT. Keswick had been called out regards 3 campers who had abandoned their tent and were now lost on Raise. At the time of the call-out the weather was heavy rain with thunder and lightning. Keswick requested assistance from PMRT due the fact they were already dealing with a number of similar call outs in their area. The PMRT team leader tried to make contact by got no answer. The team were put on standby to await further contact to establish fuller circumstances to allow decision making to send the team out in the hazardous weather which had been predicted and was still in the area. The campers made contact again at around 01am. They were on Raise and now taken shelter in their survival bags. They were unable to navigate off the mountain without assistance due to the poor visibilty and darkness. A small team responded and located the 3 campers quickly on the top of Raise and they were assisted off the fell to safety. The 3 had been wild camping near the Lake District ski hut, then when the bad weather came in they abandoned the tents and then got stranded on Raise. On the same night there were numerous calls from walkers/wild campers who got themselves in similar predicament, despite the accurate weather warning widely published. Advice from the team is to always check the weather forecast and be prepared accordingly and know how to navigate in adverse weather for when it goes wrong. It was great to see several Lakes MRT working close together that night to deal with the spike in calls, great team work! The rescue lasted  3.5hrs and involved 5 team members.
