On Saturday 21st March the Team were called by Cumbria Police to assist a male walker who had slipped and injured his ankle whilst walking with his family near Angle Tarn above Hartsop. The Duty Leader spoke to the casualty’s daughter and established details of the injury and location before calling the full Team out to assist. Team members ascended from the Filter House in the Hartsop valley where the Land Rovers were left making their way on foot to the scene. The casualty was assessed by a Remote Rescue Medical Technician, his ankle was splinted and he was placed onto a stretcher to be carried off the hill. Once back at the Land Rovers the male was transported down to the family’s vehicle and he was then conveyed to hospital for further treatment.

Keep us on the hill.
