Swirral Edge and Brown Cove Helvellyn
While the team was assembling for the previous incident, they were called by the police to assist a fallen walker. The man from York, was descending Hellvellyn via Swirral Edge with a companion. The man slipped and fell ~200m into Brown Cove. The casualty and a passing walker who had come to the aid of the fallen walker were airlifted from the scene by a Sea King helicopter from Prestwick. Seventeen members of Patterdale rescue team were involved in the two incidents.
