Birks Fell, Howtown to Glenridding path

On Thursday afternoon Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were tasked by the police on behalf of the ambulance authority to assist a 24 year old male from Derby who had fallen from his bike sustaining head and facial injuries.

The team made their way to the site by way of the team boat “The John Scott” and four search dog members who were practicing in the area also assisted.

After being treated at the scene by team members and a team doctor the casualty was stretchered from the site and transferred to the team’s boat before being taken to Carlisle hospital by land ambulance.
