One of the busiest Mountain Rescue Teams in England. 2018 our 54th year

On Wednesday 23rd July 2008 Patterdale Mountain Rescue Teams rescue boat was tasked to search the beaches opposite Glencoyne Bay for a person who had been seen to be in difficulties in the water having fallen from a canoe. A number of emergency services had been tasked and a thorough search on both sides of the lake from land, lake and the air (The Air Ambulance based in Carlisle) found nothing.

It later transpired that the person (a female) had been seen to leave the lake and be driven off in a car from Glencoyne Bay car park after checked over by the BEEP doctor.
