Lone walker rescued in high winds on High Street

The Patterdale Team were called by the Police to assist a 22yr old male walker who had become unwilling to move due to high winds. The man reported his location to be close to Kidsty Pike above Hayeswater,

A party of Patterdale rescuers went to the scene from Hartsop with some members of RAF Leeming Mountain Rescue Team who were on exercise in the Ullswater area.

A separate team from Penrith Mountain Rescue Team also came in from the Haweswater side of the valley.

The man was located at the grid reference that he provided, sheltering behind a cairn. He was assessed by a Mountain Rescue doctor and safely walked off the fell to Hartsop.
